Beginner Session

2.5 hours

An introduction to glass lampworking, best for beginners.

 

In this session you will learn the basics of working with soft glass on a lampwork torch including the following techniques:

  • Heating up the glass

  • Applying glass to the mandrel

  • Basic bead making

  • Dot decoration

  • Frit and stringer decoration

Begin making your very own beads within 30 mins! explore your own style and choose your bead colour, shape and size.

You will make a small set of beads which can be posted or collected once they are ready (24 hours minimum after the session to allow for annealing)

For one or two participants. Light refreshments provided.

£87.50 for one (2.5 hours)

£140 for two (4 hours)

Half day

3.5 hours

A follow on from the beginner session. Suitable for beginners.

 

In this workshop you will learn and develop the relevant techniques for working with soft glass on a lampwork torch including the following:

  • Heating up the glass

  • Applying glass to the mandrel

  • Basic bead making

  • Dot decoration

  • Frit and stringer decoration

  • Bead shaping

  • Layering colours

  • Making stringers

 

Begin making your very own beads within 30 mins! and apply your newly learnt skills to your own designs. Anything is possible in glass.

You will make a selection of beads which can be posted or collected once they are ready (24 hours minimum after the session to allow for annealing)

For solo particpants only. Light refreshments provided.

Full day

5 hours

Best for someone who has taken at least a beginner session previously.

 

A full day of tuition  and guidance in lampwork glass making, utilising various decorative and design techniques including but not limited to:

  • Dot decoration

  • Frit and stringer decoration

  • Bead shaping

  • Layering colours

  • Making stringers

  • Advance shapes

  • Cabochons

  • Surface texture

  • Overlays

 

This is the perfect opportunity to develop your glass making skills and let loose with the material. Apply your own ideas and get creative.

You will make a collection of beads which can be posted or collected once they are ready (24 hours minimum after the session to allow for annealing)

For solo particpants only.Lunch provided.
