Test Tube brooch

This delightful little hand blown bubble captures a selection of tiny glass shards know as 'frit.' The bubble is formed by gently blowing into a hot ball of glass at the end of the tube. Once the bubble is cooled, the tube is filled and stoppered by another small blob of hot glass.

The type of glass used is called boroscilicate but is more commonly known as pyrex. It is very tough and is used for scientific lab equipment, hence the insiration for the test tube brooch, this is just my fun colourful version!

The tube is then attached to a silver brooch back by wrapping monofilament around the tube and through the brooch back holes

Brooch measures 6.3 cm long . Silver plated findings are used. Some tarnish may be present on the findings as the piece has been out on display previously. This is reflected in the sale price.

If you wish for the package to be gift wrapped, please include this as a note to seller when purchasing.
